A few weeks ago, while running through my neighborhood, I saw one of those huge blow-up Santas in someone’s front yard. Halloween had just passed and Thanksgiving was still weeks away and we were already seeing Christmas decorations pop up. While it seemed a bit early to be putting up the Christmas decorations, we recognize that the message of Christmas is actually “timeless” and it’s needed now more than ever. We know that Jesus alone can provide hope and peace to a world that seems characterized by chaos.
With Christmas approaching this year, we want to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas!
As we reflect on this last year, this has been a year of greater trust for us. Honestly, there have been a number of unexpected challenges and situations that we had not anticipated. From relational challenges to unexpected family issues, there have been a number of situations that weren’t on our 2025 “Bingo Card” as it were.
We’re learning that each season of life has its own unique obstacles and opportunities to trust God. We’re asking questions like, “God, are you there? Are you really sovereign? Are you good?” We’ve been driven to our knees to seek the Lord, learning to trust Him with all that’s going on in our lives.
Still, in the midst of challenges, God has provided some amazing opportunities. Jen has connected with quite a number of young women through her Talbot seminary program, which has opened up new and unexpected opportunities for coaching and mentoring. In addition, we’ve been invited into some new opportunities to coach, mentor and even help shape the budding Young Adult ministry at our church, Saddleback church. This is an answer to a prayer we’ve been praying for several years.
As you know, the end of the year is an important season for us in our fund-raising efforts. End of year donations often enable us to cover any funding shortfall we’ve experienced throughout the year, as well as set us up well financially for the new year.
This year, additional funds raised will help to make up the difference in our current monthly funding shortfall. Also, some of the funds will help cover the costs related to classes Jen is taking as a part-time seminary student at Talbot Seminary. We’re thankful that she is on track to finish this next semester and graduate in May.
This year, we’re trusting the Lord to provide an additional $25,000 to help meet these needs. Would you prayerfully consider making a special gift at this time?

We know that every season of life has its challenges. We’re learning that true trust means letting go of being in control of the outcomes we may want. Whatever challenges you may be facing, we pray that this Christmas season would bring a renewed sense of hope and peace as you reflect on the birth of Christ!
